Inaugural Meeting a SUCCESS

On the Wednesday evening past, six concerned citizens met at the Marketplace Cafe on Foxcroft Ave. in Martinsburg to formally inaugurate the Berkeley County Constitution Club. The meeting began promptly at 7:00pm and was concluded precisely one hour later at 8pm. In attendance were Jeff B. of Inwood, Dave and Nancy M. of Martinsburg, Larry K. of Falling Waters, Fred K. of Martinsburg, and Kevin W. of Summit Point. Kevin W. expressed an interest in seeing how the Berkeley County club was organized to form a similar club in his neighboring Jefferson County.

The discussion of this first meeting focused primarily on organizational issues - The "Who, What, When, Where, Why and How" of the club's administration. A FAQ page will be forthcoming to the blog. Ideas for club activities include public debates, presentations of Constitutional research, speakers, independent and structured study groups, showing pertinent films/documentaries, and being involved with promoting Constitution Week in September.

There was some concern as to the background noise at the Marketplace Cafe and members are looking into some smaller and quieter venues for the future. However, since arranging new meeting locations takes time, the next meeting of the Berkeley County Constitution Club this Wednesday, March 24, 7:00pm will still be at the same Marketplace Cafe location which is just inside the Martinsburg Martin's grocery store. We apologize for any inconvenience. Thanks again to all who attended last week. Hope to see you there again along with plenty of new folks.
